Whether you are an athlete struggling with training footwear, addicted to high heels, a parent teaching a toddler to walk or a construction worker walking many KM a day.. Consider your feet!
Dr John Ruch- An Internationally recognised pioneer in foot surgery.
Podiatric Surgical Registrar Dr Hannah Chun recently had the privilege of learning with Dr John Ruch- An internationally recognised Podiatry Specialist surgeon who pioneered foot surgery techniques taught to all residents in USA and foreign countries!
Dr Ruch is the Director of Medical Education at the Podiatry Institute, an internationally recognised teaching foundation for reconstructive foot and ankle surgery.
He is also a major contributor to the famous McGlamry’s Comprehensive Textbook of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
As expected, Dr Chun was very excited to learn with Dr John Ruch and advance in surgical techniques such as hammer toes, bony deformities and bunions!
Dr Chun consults at our Wembley clinic on Mondays and Fridays.
* A referral is not required to see Dr Chun.
*All medical imaging such as X- rays or MRIs can be organised through our clinic for your convenience and attract a Medicare rebate. We use Imaging Central, Envision Imaging, SKG and Perth Radiological clinic.
Professor Datuk Jimmy Choo was in Perth this week providing inspiration to a new generation of creative minds! Jimmy Choo is a fashion icon known for creating quality and stylish couture footwear for high profile women such as the late Princess Diana, Nicole Kidman and Julie Roberts.
I was fortunate to have an exclusive opportunity to spend time with Professor Choo where he shared his expertise about all things related to feet, shoes and (much to my delight!) expressed support towards Pulse Podiatry! After all, we do have something in common.
A belief in the importance of comfortable, healthy feet, as they are the stable foundation to the rest of your body. If your feet aren't comfortable, this will affect your lifestyle, health, confidence and well being!
Jimmy Choo's advice to us? Have passion, share knowledge, respect your teachers and those around you, work with good intentions and 'work from the heart'.
Thank you very much Professor Choo!
Pulse Podiatry would like to welcome to Dr Hannah Chun, the newest addition to our family!
Dr Chun is a graduate of UWA Podiatric Medicine and is completing her Doctor of Clinical Podiatry to gain qualification as a Podiatric Surgeon. (Specialist surgeon of the foot and ankle).
She holds strong knowledge in the surgical management of foot and ankle conditions and deformities. The following may require surgery if they cause you discomfort, affect your ability to walk or exercise, cosmetic reasons, or aggravate your feet in shoes.
- Bunions
- Hammer toes/ crooked toes
- Neuromas (Condition causing a 'shooting', 'sharp' or 'burning' pain in the balls of your feet')
- Bony or soft tissue lumps
If you have any questions regarding foot and ankle surgery, or may be considering this pathway, Dr Chun is able to offer you an honest opinion and provide you with a sound explanation of possible procedures and expected outcomes. Although under training and unable to perform surgical procedures just yet, Dr Chun has the privilege to directly refer you for surgery without a GP referral, and organize all necessary imaging. (This means you will avoid extensive waiting lists!)
She also offers post- operative management if you have undergone surgery, ensuring your feet and posture are in good alignment to prevent recurrence of conditions and complications.
Warm welcome wishes Hannah, we know our patients will be in good hands!
We would like to introduce our newest podiatrist Dr Monica Zheng!
Monica graduated from Podiatric Medicine at the University of Western Australia and has worked in sports organizations umpiring football, performing footwear fittings and volunteering her knowledge (and physical endurance!) in various sporting events and fundraisers. As a recent graduate, Monica brings the latest in manual therapies, surgical skills and Orthotic (insole) therapy.
Always active, she can be found at the local football oval, basketball centre or Pilates studio.
This passion for a healthy and active lifestyle has sparked her interest in childhood and sports related conditions involving discomfort, balance, stability and injury. This includes flat feet, arch pain, ankle conditions, shin splints, sore knees and back pain.
Monica looks forward to seeing you in the Perth CBD Carillon Arcade clinic or Wembley.
We are very happy to have Monica as part of our team and we warmly welcome her to the Pulse family!
